June Is Freedom & Flavor
Published June 2026 · Colorado Springs, CO · By Drip Queen Coffee
Royals, welcome to June, a month packed with history, culture, and flavor. This month brings a brand new summer menu, an events lineup running from cultural festivals to world-class bull riding to one of the best nights at Cheyenne Mountain Zoo, and a few things you will want to know before your next visit. Pour something beautiful and read on. Every section was written for you.
Juneteenth — Why We Celebrate
On June 19th, 1865, two and a half years after President Lincoln signed the Emancipation Proclamation, Union soldiers arrived in Galveston, Texas, and announced to the last enslaved African Americans in the Confederacy that they were free. That day became Juneteenth, and what began as a Texas tradition of prayer, music, community gatherings, and collective joy has grown into a national federal holiday that honors the long-overdue fulfillment of freedom's promise for Black Americans. We celebrate Juneteenth at Drip Queen Coffee not simply because it is a holiday on the calendar, but because the story of Juneteenth is woven into the very reason this business exists. Drip Queen Coffee was built by a Black veteran family in Colorado Springs, a military city, with the conviction that excellence, beauty, and belonging have no ceiling and no color.
Every cup we craft, every dish we prepare, every Royal we welcome through these doors is a living expression of that conviction. Juneteenth reminds us of how far freedom has traveled and how much further it still has to go, and it reminds us that businesses like ours — Black-owned, community-rooted, and unapologetically excellent — are part of what that journey looks like in practice. We honor Juneteenth by showing up fully, by celebrating loudly, and by continuing to build something in this community that our family and our Royals can be proud of for generations.
June Events — We Are Right in the Middle of It
June 2026 is shaping up to be one of the most event-rich months this city has experienced in years, and Drip Queen Coffee is positioned at the center of it all. We are showing up at the most meaningful cultural festival in Southern Colorado, we are minutes away from one of the most ambitious live events ever staged at Falcon Stadium, and we are inviting every Royal who goes to Moonlight on the Mountain at Cheyenne Mountain Zoo to end their evening at our Centennial Blvd lounge. Here is what you need to know about each one.

These are not ordinary café snacks. They are crafted dishes, developed with care, designed to complement our coffee and cold brew offerings, and built to make your time inside these walls feel like something worth remembering. Let us introduce you to each one.
